Sam Kutesa Uganda Diplomat and Multi Millionaire

By voting for me, I would put my energy into achieving your expectations ..." Sam Kutesa is the Chairman of National Resistance Movement (NRM) - the ruling party. He has been reelected Chairman of NRM for the whole District and Flag Bearer for the party as MP for Mawogola in recent universal primary elections. These political campaign slogans inspire hope for the future, promise results and offer change.
History
He was born on 1 February 1949. He is a close associate of President Yoweri Museveni and was previously the Minister of State for Investment, from 2001 until 2005.
Education
Sam Kutesa holds a law degree Bachelor of Law (LLB). He also holds the Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center in Kampala.
Work experience
From 1973 until 2001 Sam Kutesa was in private law practice. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Mbarara North Constituency, between 1980 until 1985. He served as Attorney General between 1985 and 1986. Between 1994 and 1995, he served as a delegate to the Constituent Assembly that drafted the 1995 Ugandan Constitution. He was elected MP for Mawogola County in 2001 and was re-elected in 2006. He is the current incumbent.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni appointed Sam Kutesa as foreign minister in 2005. Kutesa had been minister of state for investment, and took over the Foreign Ministry following the death of James Wapakhabulo.
Personal details
He is a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement political party. On Saturday, 16 August 2008, Sam Kutesa took as his wife, Edith Gasana, at a ceremony held at his residence in Nakasero, a Kampala suburb, and attended by President Yoweri Museveni and Uganda's First Lady, and MP for Ruhaama County, Ntungamo District, Janet Kataaha Museveni.
