Alpine Aviation is now a 100% black owned aviation company.
Wilfred Tshuma, a seasoned entrepreneur and his business partner Mxolisi Motau took over the flight path of Alpine Aviation in December 2009 with a great vision to turn the business around. Wilfred is now the CEO and Chairman of Alpine Aviation, with Mxolisi heading up Finance.
Their vision is to raise the profile of Alpine Aviation in the aviation, corporate and leisure industry by bringing innovation, creating opportunities for more pilot training and creating more business and job opportunities.
The company is launching the exciting and much anticipated Heli Air Sandton, an airport shuttle services between OR Tambo and Sandton, Sandton and Pretoria and in the near future Cape Town International Airport and V&A Waterfront. Executive Agusta AW139 helicopters will operate the shuttle service. Heli Air Sandton will have a heliport at OR Tambo International and a helistop in Sandton - the economic hub of South Africa and home to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
‘Innovation is a reflection of a country’s confidence and Heli Air Sandton is a demonstration of South Africa’s boldness to leap forward, we are passionate and excited about our business and look forward to the transformation ahead’, says Wilfred.

I am pleased to announce that I have acquired 100% of Alpine Aviation. I have since taken over the operations of the business, effective 15 December 2009. The acquisition is an integral part of the Heli Air Sandton execution strategy. Alpine Aviation will therefore be the operator of Heli Air Sandton, with its licences and permits; and most importantly its experienced pilots and other staff members.
Since taking over the company, we have been working to develop the new product, while refining and continuing with existing products like the training school, charters and Helivac. The fundamentals of the business are in place, although the business has been affected by the economic depression of the last 2 years like any other business. It is possible that there are people out there who may have outstanding matters, or have had adverse experiences with Alpine Aviation, particularly in the last few months. It is not unreasonable to assume that these are signs of distress in the company. In our plan to operate Heli Air Sandton through Alpine Aviation, we will do whatever it takes to resolve all outstanding matters with everyone, including remedying any possible past mishaps.
