Arunma Oteh, born in Nigeria, has been Director General at US Securities and Exchange Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission since December 2009.
Oteh served as the Vice President of Corporate Management and Corporate Services of African Development Bank (AfDB) since March 2006.
Oteh has over 16 years of experience in the Capital Market.
She served as Director of Treasury Department at ADB until March 2006.
Oteh was previously a Bank Group Treasurer.
In addition, she has also held positions in treasury and lending since she joined the AfDB in 1992.
She worked in corporate finance, consulting, teaching and research.
Oteh served as the AfDB Group’s Treasurer for five years from 2001 to 2006, with overall responsibility for its fund raising and investments in major international capital markets.
Oteh also worked variously in AfDB as Division Manager Investments and Trading Room from 1997 to 2001, as well as Senior Investment Officer and Senior Capital Markets Officer from 1993 to 1997.
Oteh serves as a Non-Executive Director of AMCON, Inc. She serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Africa investor Ltd.
Oteh holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a first class honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Nigeria.
